Platform Specialist – Portfolio Management Systems

The Platform Specialist is an entry-level role supporting the day-to-day operations of portfolio management platforms, including Black Diamond Wealth Platform, Orion Advisor Tech, Addepar, and Envestnet Tamarac. This role is responsible for handling Tier 1 support requests, assisting with data management, and supporting client reporting and platform workflows. It is designed for individuals early in their careers who are interested in wealth tech, operations, and consulting, and who want to build hands-on experience with industry-leading systems used by RIAs and wealth management firms. The Platform Specialist works closely with senior team members to ensure timely ticket resolution, accurate data handling, and consistent execution of repeatable processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Service Requests & Tier 1 Platform Support

  • Monitor and manage incoming client support tickets across portfolio management systems
  • Triage tickets by platform (Black Diamond, Orion, Addepar, Tamarac), priority, and issue type
  • Resolve Tier 1 requests, including:
    • User access and permission updates
    • Basic report troubleshooting (missing data, display issues)
    • Account and household updates
    • Simple reconciliation or data discrepancy identification
  • Document all actions clearly within the ticketing system
  • Meet defined SLAs for response and resolution (e.g., same-day response before 4pm)
  • Escalate complex platform, reconciliation, or data integrity issues to senior specialists

Client Reporting & Deliverables

  • Assist with generating and formatting client reports within platforms
  • Support report customization (branding, grouping, formatting adjustments)
  • Troubleshoot basic reporting issues across platforms
  • Ensure consistency and quality in client-facing deliverables

Project Implementation & Support

  • Assist with onboarding and conversion projects by:
    • Preparing data templates
    • Formatting and validating spreadsheet uploads
    • Supporting account and household setup
  • Maintain project trackers and ensure tasks are updated
  • Contribute to standardized project templates and checklists

Spreadsheet & Data Support

  • Build and format spreadsheets for data uploads, reconciliations, and tracking
  • Perform basic data manipulation (sorting, filtering, lookups, formulas)
  • Assist in mapping and transforming client data for platform use
  • Maintain clean, organized, and standardized templates

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 0–2 years of professional experience (internships or relevant coursework acceptable)
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Problem-Solving: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Efficiency Mindset: Interested in leveraging AI to improve efficiency across tasks
  • Initiative: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Exposure to wealth management, financial services, or SaaS platforms
  • Wealthtech Familiarity: Experience working with one or more of the following:
    • Black Diamond Wealth Platform
    • Orion Advisor Tech
    • Addepar
    • Envestnet Tamarac
  • Financial Concepts: Understanding of basic financial concepts (accounts, portfolios, transactions)
  • Support Systems: Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, Freshdesk)

Platform Consultant

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Platform Consultant to join our team. This role will focus on assisting our organization in the implementation, daily operation, and optimization of portfolio management platforms specifically designed to support wealth management firms and registered investment advisors (RIAs). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wealth management technology and experience within the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation Support: Assist in the setup and configuration of portfolio management platforms to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Operational Assistance: Provide ongoing support for daily operations, including troubleshooting and resolving platform-related issues.
  • Optimization: Analyze platform usage and identify opportunities for enhancement to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation, including user guides and standard operating procedures for platform usage.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our client facing team members to gather feedback and implement improvements based on user experience and operational needs.
  • Platform Updates: Stay informed about platform updates, new features, and industry trends to ensure our team is utilizing the tools effectively.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in operations analysis, financial analysis, or a related role, preferably within 
the fintech industry.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to 
non-technical team members.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and support colleagues in achieving 
common goals.
  • Initiative: Quick learner who takes initiative and is proactive in identifying and addressing challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diverse Platform Experience: Familiarity with portfolio management platforms (Black Diamond, Orion, Addepar, and Tamarac) is a plus.
  • Financial Services: Experience working directly with RIAs or in the Financial Services Industry.
